Hope + Resolute / Crosby beach Banners from discarded umbrellas

	Passers-by offer help with Hope and Resolute. Loosely based on 'festival of the sea' trawler banners, Resolute is my boat and Hope a Peak District valley. In the shadow of Hope. Unlike the trawler banners, names are displayed metaphorically. Originally comprising part of an installation exhibited at LJMU Exhibition Research Lab, they hung at the end of the gallery like shields in a medieval hall or relics of war. Here they signal tankers at the end of the world. Navigation poles mark an invisible path, a safe unseen channel. /
